Welcome
Fountainhill Estate's history spans six generations, with the 5th and 6th generation currently active on the farm. The original family members came from Germany, and bought the land in 1886. We have always farmed with passion, commitment, and with a strong emphasis placed on discipline, direction, and dedication. We are especially committed to conserving our natural heritage in wildlife, fauna, and flora.

As a family-run farm we are always happy to show visitors around, and farming enthusiasts will enjoy the Sussex cattle, our sugar plantations, avocado orchards, and our conservation efforts.
Our farm is an escapist’s heaven, and a photographer’s delight, where you can immerse yourself in the many aspects of nature. Sunsets here are spectacular, and even the misty days are quietly refreshing. Early risers will delight in the stillness and fresh air before sunrise.

The sights and sounds of the swiftly flowing rivers, waterfalls, nature walks, game drives, birding , fishing, and mountain-biking, are really enjoyable. Our peaceful dams are home to Cape Clawless Otters, and Bass Fishing is available for guests from one of our well stocked dams. For lovers of wild life and scenery this is the place to be.

We also have a listed National Heritage site - a middle stone-age shelter.
